The title of one of Salgado's new works is “Daphnis” who in Greek mythology was a shepherd boy, the son of Hermes and a nymph. Daphnis is also described and shown as an anemones, the embodiment of idealised male youth. As Greek tragedy goes a nymph fell in love with him, and promised to be faithful to him. However, Daphnis was seduced by the daughter of a king, and in revenge, the nymph turned him to stone. Poor chap!
