The Christopher Møller Art Gallery is proud to present 'Somewhere', an exhibition of paintings by the Parisian painter, Lou Ros. In 2013, Ros was selected by Saatchi Online as one of twelve emerging international artists to invest in. The artist has had a number of successful exhibitions across Europe and the U.S. This will be his first visit to the African continent and we are delighted to host his solo exhibition in Cape Town, South Africa from 29 January - 3 March 2015. AM, Oil on canvas, 40 x 50 cm

The title of one of Salgado's new works is “Daphnis” who in Greek mythology was a shepherd boy, the son of Hermes and a nymph. Daphnis is also described and shown as an anemones, the embodiment of idealised male youth. As Greek tragedy goes a nymph fell in love with him, and promised to be faithful to him. However, Daphnis was seduced by the daughter of a king, and in revenge, the nymph turned him to stone. Poor chap!
